A Steel Town Reborn

CMU has played a major role in Pittsburgh's renaissance, and much of that has to do with our work in AI. Our research has attracted companies like Amazon, Google, Oculus and Apple to Pittsburgh. Relationships with companies like Boeing and GM will make our travel smarter in the future.

We're a major partner in the new Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute, a $250 million collaboration with 220 partners to leverage artificial intelligence, autonomy, 3-D printing and other emerging technologies to make industrial robotics more affordable for businesses of all sizes, adaptable for many uses and able to achieve more.

Our success is linked intrinsically to that of our hometown. We need support and collaboration with industry to ensure that success continues.
